1 Year Old Photography | Cake Smash | Lexi | Milwaukee, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

Where oh where has the time gone!?! I first met this cutie a year ago when she was an adorable newborn who was spoiling her parents by sleeping so well! As she continued to grow, she continued to spoil them with her smiley and laid back demeanor at 6 months. And here we are a whole year later! Still as smiley and giggly as ever! She is always a joy to be around and makes my job INSANELY easy! I consider myself incredibly blessed to know this sweet little one. Having the opportunity to photograph her growth for a whole year, certainly makes me appreciate this thing we call life.

Lexi my dear, I can't wait to see your personality shine even more as you grow over the next year. But I can kinda wait, so don't grow up too fast!!!

Wedding Photography | Josh + Pooja | Shorewood River Club + Hubbard Park Lodge - Milwaukee, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

Josh + Pooja are incredibly thoughtful individuals and that fact was truly evident in each personal touch that they built into their day. When we met to discuss final details for their wedding, I got more and more excited with each way they were personalizing their day. Siblings singing "As the Deer". (Little did Pooja know that Josh had secretly been practicing with them!) Josh's mom sang "The Lord's Prayer" as his dad played the piano. One of Josh's sisters read seven Bible verses as they walked around their freshly lit Unity Candle.

And the personal touches didn't stop with the ceremony! Josh + Pooja managed to surprise their guests with a special nod to their proposal story by having a caricature artist on site during cocktail hour. Josh made their adorable cake topper for their cake that was nestled amongst delicous doughnuts.

Any combination of the personal touches listed above, would have made for a special day. But there was more! There was a beautiful blending of cultural traditions.  Pooja wore two different dresses and looked simply stunning in both of them! Josh made a grand entrance for his baraat. They exchanged flower garlands at the beginning of the ceremony. Petals were tossed as they walked down the aisle as Mr. + Mrs.

My eyes were sparkling the whole day as I soaked in all the bright colors that could be seen every direction you turned. And man oh man do these two and their friends + family know how to party!

Newborn Photography | Arthur Peter | Madison, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

There is something so endearing about a little one sharing names with grandparents. Young Arthur is no exception! This little man has such a sweet demeanor and I enjoyed every minute that I spent with him and his family. His big sister, Rosemary, is already taking excellent care of her baby brother. My heart melted when she shared her blanket with him during their photos together. The heartwarming glances and subtle smiles he shared with his mom were so special to witness. When it was dad's turn, I was delighted to see another side of Arthur's personality as they exchanged shared some goofy faces and Arthur showed off his muscles. Having the opportunity to "ooh and awe" over a new life never gets old!

Welcome to the world, Arthur!
