Love Letters | Family Photography | The G Family | Elm Grove, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

"With two brothers serving the country in the Navy, getting photographs done of the whole family was so special. Even though the family is spread around the country, we can cherish the moments we spent together at Christmas."

I'm so glad that we managed to squeeze these images in just before that major snowstorm after Christmas. Not only because family and the holidays go hand in hand, but because these images mean so much more. Kimmi contacted me asking if I'd be available to photograph family pictures. There was a bit of added urgency since only a little bit later one of the brothers would be moving to Hawaii with his family. I can definitely relate to the desire to have family photos during those special times when you are all able to be together. It's easy to get spread out and yearn for those opportunities when they aren't there. Thank you G family for recognizing the importance of that family connection. It was a pleasure to meet you all and photograph your family!

I thoroughly enjoy every opportunity I have to spend with these guys! They are just so fun! It has been an awesome experience to see how much they change and grow every year. I truly treasure the images that I've taken of them the past few years. It also serves as a wonderful reminder to see how much my photography has evolved too. But enough of that tangent. Let's get back to my favorite little men!
Their dad recently constructed an incredible treehouse for them which they were happy to show me. However, this photographer was a tad too chicken to follow them up that ladder to their new fortress. These guys know how to have a great time! On this particular day, the name of the game was "Kicker". Luckily for them, they have a fantastic mom who is happy to play in order to make teams even. There was some fierce competition for sure! We made sure to capture some team photos and also managed to sneak in some nice portraits for mom and Nana before the afternoon was over.

Thanks for such a fun afternoon JJ, Zechariah and Joey! I had a blast!

Engagement Photography | Kyle + Kim | Downtown Delafield by Emily Hilleshiem

My heart is so full looking back at these images!

You guys, I have known this gal since before we went to preschool together! I remember playing together on the school playground many a times. It was such a special day when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. My heart just about burst with excitement! I felt truly honored that she asked me to be part of her special day.

Fast forward to their engagement pictures. It was a chilly November day, but that did not keep these two from smiling. There weren’t many moments where Kim wasn’t grinning ear to ear which made me sooo happy! I’m so glad she has found such a great guy in Kyle. He is an incredibly caring guy, but also isn’t afraid to show his true affection by pretending to throw her off the bridge at the end of the session. These two are perfect together! They balance each other very well.

I’m eagerly looking forward to their wedding next October. It is going to be stunning! Gotta love Wisconsin weddings in October! It doesn’t get much better than that!

Enjoy!

Meet Kim + Kyle!
