I’ve known Ethan since high school, so when he reached out to ask me about photographing his wedding I was really touched. Ethan and Britani are currently doing the long distance thing while they each finish up school, so coordinating schedules for their engagement session took a little time, but oh was it worth the wait! Britani is simply the sweetest! She has stunningly beautiful eyes and a smile to match. Ethan knows just what to say to make her nose crinkle and her smile beam. Sure it was a little chilly, but it didn’t seem to bother them. They were just happy to be with each other. I also must tell you, that the more details Britani shares about their upcoming summer wedding, the more excited I get! Trust me friends, you won’t want to miss their wedding post! A travel themed wedding was certainly suitable for Ben + Julie. Throughout their relationship they have traveled thousands upon thousands of miles. I don't know many people who have made long distance look as easy as they have. Their wedding day solidified that they will forever be one another's travel companion. No more long distance for these two!

My favorite details of incorporating the travel theme were the luggage tags that served as place tags, how each table featured a different destination and finally that a book of maps served as their guestbook.

Ben's best man, Noah, touched on the fact that Ben + Julie were both cross country runners as well. Yet another way that they had traveled many miles. They have run the duration of their dating relationship, and now will begin to run the race that God has marked out for them as husband and wife.

When I first met Joe last year for their engagement pictures, I learned very quickly that he will do whatever it takes to get a laugh out of Marissa. There wedding day was no exception. Joe and Marissa love to laugh and have a good time. The friends they had by their side, as their bridal party, shared the same sentiment. Their bridal party was full of fun characters who were going to ensure their friends had a great time at their wedding.

When Marissa told me that their reception would be held at Schlitz Audobon Nature Center, I was ecstatic. If you've never visited, be sure to add it to your list, because the nature preserve is stunning! They never disappoint with the beautiful space that they host parties in either. Large windows helped to bring the outdoors in to their hall. I couldn't imagine a better space for Joe + Marissa's loved ones to celebrate with them in.

When Joe and Marissa were early into their relationship, there was some Star Wars involved, as Joe is a big fan. This led to the most unique grand entrance I have seen in 6+ years of photographing weddings. *cue the Imperial March*

Friends who have a good time. A beautiful natural venue. And a little bit of the force. Their wedding is not one I will soon forget!
