Wedding Photography | Dan + Becca | St. Paul's Lutheran - Franklin | Clarion Hotel - Milwaukee by Emily Hilleshiem

As if the rest of the day hadn't proven it already, as I photographed Dan + Becca singing along to their first dance song by The Script,  I couldn't help but think these guys were my kind of people.

Their maids of honor, Lauren and Erin, and best men, Chris and Jason, got to the heart of what is so wonderful about their newly married friends. Lauren had asked each of them what they loved about the other. Becca loves Dan's selflessness and eagerness to help anyone at anytime. Chris and Jason each recounted a few moments when this was made evident. And Dan loves Becca's easy ability to laugh and smile. Erin stated how Becca could make the worst day end with laughter. His servant heart and her infectious personality are just small parts of what makes them a great couple.

Although, they were surrounded with loving friends and family, on their hearts and in their minds was the memory of Dan's younger brother, Josiah. They danced to "You Should Be Here", by Cole Swindell, in his memoriam. It was such a powerful moment to watch as tears were slowly accompanied by smiles as they remembered that he is with his Savior.

All in all, it was a beautiful, warm, June day as this Canadian groom married his Wisconsin bride.

Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. S!

Wedding Photography | Ben + Emily | St. John's Lutheran - Wauwatosa | Muskego Lakes Country Club by Emily Hilleshiem

This day caused me to smile, laugh and tear up quite a bit from behind my camera. And I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

I smile a bunch during a wedding day, but here are the highlights! I smiled when I saw Emily had a lace dress, because I'm an absolute sucker for lace. I smiled when I saw Ben's niece because she is seriously adorable! I smiled when Ben first saw Emily for the first time because his eyes lit up. However, I smiled the most when the chilly weather and bit of rain did not put the slightest damper on the happiness that Ben + Emily had to be getting married. (Kudos to this awesome bridal party who also grinned and bore with me as we played with umbrellas in the wind and rain!)

I laughed through the musical reprises/parodies that were given by the matron + maid of honor (Fresh Prince of Bel Air); as well as, by the father of the groom (Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind). There is some serious creative/musical talent from both families! It was only fitting that there was music involved, as these two met in piano class. I really loved how they included that detail in their centerpieces!

The best man and Emily's dad each had me tearing up as they showered the couple with super sweet sentiments. I was thankful that I had a camera in front of my camera to cover my bit of makeup that was surely a tad messy. Ben + Emily are extremely kind hearted individuals and that compassion is only magnified when they're together. Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of the love that they not only share for one another, but that their friends and family have for them.

Wedding Photography | Brian + Rachel | Grace Downtown + Grace Center | Downtown Milwaukee by Emily Hilleshiem

It was a beautiful day in October. A tad on the cool side and a few raindrops here and there, but that did nothing to dampen this pair's excitement of getting married. Not to mention, the slightly overcast skies acted as the most perfect light source for this photographer! Despite being in downtown Milwaukee, we managed to find some beautiful fall color for Rachel and Brian, who opted for a first look. The smile behind my camera was almost as big as Brian's when he first laid eyes on his bride. These two were ready to get married. The subtle adoring gazes they exchanged and the kind words shared by their family and friends confirmed this. The themes of "in God's time" and a "cord of three strands" will serve as wonderful reminders to the couple of what their commitments mean beyond their wedding day.
