Engagement Photography | David + Naomi | St. Lucas Lutheran | Bayview, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

Ya'll one of my oldest and dearest friends is getting married! I've known Naomi since 1st grade. We've navigated the waters of high school together, which isn't unusual, except for the fact that God worked in amazing ways by having both our families move to Wisconsin in the same summer so that we could. But enough about that, let's talk about my bestie and her guy.

Seriously, there are few things more amazing that seeing your best friend light up when she's around the guy who's captured her heart. Their engagement session was all the more personal because I had the pleasure of photographing in the same place that he proposed. How neat is that!?! But wait, it gets better! It's also the place where they will be starting their life together as husband + wife come April. Three milestones all connected by a single location, a church. They've built their relationship on their love for God and their love for each other, and I couldn't be happier to see where He leads them.

The frigid temperatures didn't dissuade these two! And before you think that I was a torturous photographer with no regard for her client's comfort, I'd like you to know that we took plenty of "warm up" breaks. :) In fact, I believe that because it was so cold, the energy level was heightened and we just had a great time hanging out and laughing. At least I hope they felt the same way! Their wedding in June is sure to be beautiful and better yet the weather is bound to be much warmer too! Until then, please enjoy these winter wonderland snapshots!

Engagement Photography | Ben + Julie | Kilbourn Reservoir Park + Kadish Park | Downtown Milwaukee, WI by Emily Hilleshiem

Man oh man, was it ever tough to select a FEW favorites from this engagement session! Ben + Julie just enjoy being together and spending time together. Julie was all smiles from the moment I met up with them. Long distance relationships can be extremely challenging, but you would never guess that from seeing how effortlessly these two love each other. We started out at the spot where their relationship blossomed, Kilbourn Reservoir Park, overlooking the city of Milwaukee. I was speechless when Julie told me about their date there. Let's just say, Ben is one smooth fella who plans ahead well! (You'll have to ask them about it for more details.) From there we walked around Kadish Park. It was a bit brisk that morning, but as a photographer, I love brisk weather because it makes for lots of snuggling! They certainly didn't seem to mind the challenge either! We laughed, they snuggled and my heart became more and more full as I fell in love with these two as a couple. I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding next June!
